At Peshawar there were 104 women police personnel,
against the sanctioned strength of 107. In
Abbottabad, there were 33 female personnel, in
comparison to the sanctioned strength of 39. It also
came to our knowledge during the visits that there
are five honorary female constables in Peshawar, on
the quota allotted to the families of martyred
police personnel. They receive the benefits,
salaries and pensions of their husbands, but do not
perform any duties. It was also claimed that some of
the domestic help hired by senior officials was
included in the strength of women police. |
